Moxie Fab World Olympics of Stamping Challenge "Birthday category"

1. Stamped pink dots on white card stock using PTI Dot Spot stamp set and Spun sugar distress ink.
2. Stamped PTI violet images using Adirondack watermelon pigment ink. After allowing time for pigment ink to dry. Cut out images.
3. Added additional color to violets using copic markers RV00, V0000, and G40
4. Added some dimension to the center of violets using Liquid Pearls white opal.
5. Stamped leaves from PTI Turning a new leaf with Shabby shutters distress ink.
6. The border at the bottom is from PTI Background Basics Tin Types stamped with shabby shutters.
7. Next I used a piercing tool and mat to make holes in border.
8. Using pink embroidery floss I tied little knots. (This took a little longer than I thought it would, but thought the effect was worth the time)
9. Stamped the sentiment, PTI butterfly kisses, with a combination of the watermelon ink and spun sugar. Inked the image once with the pigment ink and stamped it on scrap paper then reinked with spun sugar and stamped on card.
10. Adhered the flower images to the card.
11.Used white ribbon to compliment the border.

Thanks for coming by and hope you are having a great weekend!

A touch of spring!

I

Is anyone as ready for spring as I am? We were out yesterday and went to pick up some bird seed and there were these gorgeous tulips sitting outside in the sun. It was cold and windy and I just couldn't resist picking up some of these to take home. They just made me feel like warmer days would get here sometime soon.

My husband wanted to know what I was going to do with them.....Isn't that just like a man? My reply "I'm going to look at them." LOL! And of course take a few pictures of them, and just ENJOY!

Now I can just see the daffodils, and smell the hyacinths, can't you?

Variation of "Thinking of You"

Just had to play a little more with this stamp. This time I colored the stamp with a marker and then stamped on the letterpress cardstock.
Added some color with a copic marker. Did the same embossing to add some dimension. This time ran the pink background through the cuttlebug with the dot embossing folder.

Moxie Fab World Olympics of Stamping Challenge

This is my entry in the "Thinking of You" category.
I stamped the flower image and sentiment using basic gray ink on letterpress cardstock.
Cut out using a spellbinders nestability.
Using a mouse pad and the small end of an embossing tool I embossed around the flowers and stems.
I then turned the image over and using the large end of the embossing tool I embossed the flowers inside the outline of the image.
Using the largest die from the nestability I cut basic gray card stock.
Then pierced the gray paper around the edge using a In Stitchz piercing tool and mat.
Finished this layer by sewing through the pierced holes using gray and white embroidery floss.
Before adhering the white layer to the gray layer I put a small amount of crumpled tissue paper behind the flowers to add a little more dimension.
Stamped the butterfly, cut it out and added to front of card.
Mounted on white A6 size card.
Supplies:
stamps
Paper trey ink butterfly dreams
PTI Through the trees
Hero Arts flower trio
White bazzil card stock
White letter press card stock
SU basic gray card stock and ink
embossing tool
Bazzil In Stitchz piercing tool and mat
white and gray embossing floss

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Snow in the south!

The snow started around 8pm on the 12th. I was convinced the forecasters had missed again because they said it would start around 6. It started with big snowflakes and lots of them and it didn't take more than an hour or two for this amount of accumulation.
This was the view before sunrise. I have been sick all week so I was up and down all night but it gave me the opportunity to watch the changing view. It also is the reason that all of my shots were taken from the same place. Inside my back door in the warmth of the house. As much as I would have love to have been outside in it, really didn't want to take the chance of getting sicker.
Love this little sitting area out near the field, just a quiet place to sit and enjoy nature and I don't think it has ever been more beautiful than it was a this moment.
Is anything more beautiful than when the sun starts to shine through the snow and everything just glistens? Love the shadows on the ground..........it's almost magical.

As soon as the sun started coming up the birds were out looking for some food. I always worry that our little southern feathered friends will find the snow and the cold too much. But nature is a wonderful thing and they seem to make it through just fine. It was a happy accident that I caught that bird in flight.

Then back off to bed for me but Larry went out to look at the scenery and take a few pictures. These are two wonderful pictures that he took
This a a wonderful shot of Moore's Creek .
And he came across this great duck swimming in the chilly water. We have been through this area so much and today was the first time there have been ducks in the water.

I always enjoy seeing the snow, since we usually don't get to see any.........and hardly ever see this much. But this year I am ready for warm weather and spring.
Hopefully will be feeling much better soon and able to get back to some crafting.
