Layers of Color

We're having a rainy day, so I decided to create a sunny day on a card. Over on the Hero Blog Shari Carroll has a beautiful card and a video showing how to do color layering. This technique looks like fun and I just had to give it a try.
Started with Letterpress card stock and die cut the center out using a Spellbinders deckled oval nestability.
Used CL 428 Earth Flowers from HA and stamped the grass using 2 colors of green ink.
Stamped the flowers from the same set and inked with distress and HA inks. The tiny flowers are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.
The butterflies are from a HA-Archivers exclusive clear set.
Cut a smaller deckled oval and stamped the sentiment from CL417 Huge Hugs.
Used foam tape to mount the outer layer and placed the smaller oval flat on the page.
Added a few pearls for accents and a touch of yellow Perfect Pearls to the center of the small flowers.

Just got a nice surprise :) my mailman just brought me some new Hero stamps!

Hope your day is sunny and thanks for stopping by to visit.
