Joyful Spring

I'm in the mood for flowers, especially lovely fresh spring flowers. Since they are not blooming yet I decided to make some.
The flowers on my wreath were all made on the Silhouette SD. Once they were cut out I placed them on a foam mat and rubbed the center of them with a round tool and that makes them curl up a little and gives them more dimension. Added a touch of color in the center with a yellow marker and some of the new Hero Hues Dots.
The wreath was stamped on white linen cardstock and cutout. The leaves were colored with a copic marker.
The background stamp was stamped with white pigment ink and embossed with white detail embossing powder.
The 3 scalloped ovals were cut on the Silhouette and the deckled strip was made using a Spellbinders nestability.

Supplies:
Hero Arts :
CL497 Find Joy
S5491 Flower Wreath
S5507 Envelope Pattern
Silhouette SD designs:
3d ruffle flower
8-petal flowers
8 piece mini scalloped oval set

Now that I have my flowers I am going to clean my house. Not very exciting but when it's done I will find Joy in a clean house :)  Have a great one and thanks for visiting!

Bunny Smiles

I am feeling spring getting close and trying to hurry it along. This bunny shaped card is a Silhouette SD design and the stamped design is from the latest Hero Arts release. This is a very simple, quick card to make.
Cut the bunny card out using white linen cardstock, stamp  the design, add  a few gemstones, ribbon and a touch of ink around the edges.

Hurry up Spring! So ready for buds and flowers and warm breezes.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Vase of Flowers

Hope you haven't gotten too tired of the pairing of Hero Arts and Silhouette, because here is another one.
The vase and flowers, and scalloped edge oval are designs from Silhouette and there is subtle stamping using Hero stamps to create texture.
The vase and flowers were cut out of white linen cardstock and colored with copics and markers. I stamped over the flowers using the Hero dandelion stamp in a similar color as the background. Glossy Accents was added to the shape of a vase.
The scalloped oval was cut out of a light blue-green cardstock and the pattern was embossed using the Hero Envelope Pattern stamp, versamark frost, and clear detail embossing powder.
The sentiment is from a new Clear Hero set "Sending Smiles Message". After stamping the sentiment I  embossed over it using the envelope pattern stamp.

I took the card outside to photograph in natural light and the wind kept blowing it off the deck and that is why you see a few rough edges here and there. So there I am with the card in one hand, the camera in the other...Put the card on the rail of the deck....try to get the camera ready....wind blows the card off the deck... . I'm out in the yard, hoping it didn't blow into the dirt....That happened more times than I want to admit! Hope you can picture that in your mind and it gives you something to laugh about. I'm laughing now but not so much when it was happening.

Have a great Monday! Thanks for visiting :)

Bold Flowers and Birthday Wishes

I am having a fantastic morning....Didn't have to get up at 0515......found out I passed a test........the florist just called and they are delivering flowers....What a day!!

Some creative time too, Life is good.

I used the flower with stem design from Silhouette SD and used the bold background image for this card. I cut it out on white paper and then stamped and colored it with copics. This is the cut out right out of the machine.

I stamped the leaves and flower with 2 of the new Hero stamps, CG248, CG251, the large and small bold flowers. Then I colored the stems and applied some color to the edges with copic markers.
The lacy edge is from a Silhouette card design called "pretty loops". The sentiment is also from a new Hero clear set CL490 Sending Smiles Messages.

I hope you are having a wonderful day also!!
Thanks for stopping by :)

Silhouette Mix and Match

There are so many downloads available for use with the Silhouette and you can really have endless possibilites by mixing and matching some of them. There are 3 different downloads used to make this flower. I think that makes it even more fun. Different shapes, different sizes, different papers..........Tons of room for creativity!

The oval background was not a download but you can "draw" your own different shapes and make them the size you need. How cool is that?

The sentiment is from a Hero Clear set and you can use those in different ways by cutting the clear words apart and arranging them in a different order. In this sentiment the words were side by side and I layered them because it fit my card better. If I cut the stamps I make sure that I store them in a closed container so that I don't lose bits and pieces.

We are having beautiful weather this week. Highs in the 60s and 70s, sunny...just lovely. I think Phil may have been right this year :)

Have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing a little of your day with me.

Nested Hearts

I heart my Silhouette SD and these wonderful nested hearts. I think there are 8 hearts some scalloped and some plain and I just cut them out 4 times in the different colors of card stock. The card base is the largest plain heart enlarged and cut out twice. I know there is a way to weld them together but I haven't learned it yet so I just cut it out twice and scored the heart in the back about 1/2 inch from the side and used take on that part to adhere the two sides.

The Valentine stamp is a 1999 stamp from Stampa Rosa.
Necessity is the mother of invention. I wasn't sure how to photograph this heart shaped card because I think they look better standing, than lying flat. Then I saw my rusty old metal chair and it worked perfectly. This chair is in pretty bad shape but it is so comfortable I just can't bear to get rid of it.

I am happy to be home. I have been at a Lactation Specialist course all week. It was a great course and there was an amazing amount of information to be taken in.........and I was so stressed about the test at the end. It has been a while since I was in school. Have to wait to find out if I passed or not and patience is not my strong suit. If I passed I want to know but I guess if I didn't, the longer I don't know the better LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a Lovely Valentines Day.

Feelin' the Blues

Another Hero Arts and Silhouette card. The image and the sentiment are from the 2011 Hero catalog. The flourishes and the frame are made using the silhouette. I stamped the image and cut out the deckled edge with a nestability. I only used 1 shade of blue ink and it ended up looking quite different depending on how it was applied to the white card stock.
On my way to class this morning, Thanks for stopping by!!
