Flower Festival

I'm making a set of cards to be donated to a silent auction to benefit the Nurse's Education Fund at our hospital. Since everybody needs birthday cards that will be the common theme.  The hydrangea stamp is from the Penny Black set "Flower Festival". It was colored using copic markers and placed on an embossed background created with a Marianne Designables folder called "Vintage".

This stamp is also from the same Penny Black clear set and the background is another Designable by Marianne Designs.

Off to make some more cards for the set. Thanks for stopping by :)

Butterfly Kisses

Hi, hope you are wrapping up your work week and looking forward to a relaxing weekend. I plan to do some serious crafting tomorrow before heading back to work on Sunday.

Made this card last week and finally got around to posting. Its from the latest Penny Black release. I did the embossing first and then stamped and colored the image. I am not sure if you can tell from the photo but I also colored around the embossed background with a colored pencil. Just a touch of creamy yellow.

Confession time...I have already broken my New Year's resolution to get birthday cards out on time. That didn't take long, did it?  Hopefully I will get back on track.

Not really feeling like cooking tonight so I think we will have some cereal with bananas. As many recipes that I pin on Pinterest you would think I could do a little better than that. It's just been that kind of day.

Thanks for stopping by and putting up with my rambling :)

A Little Bird

This card is from the cheerful stamp set A Little bird  by Penny Black. I have found a site that only carries Penny Black stamps and it is called PB Stamps. He has the most complete selection of Penny Black stamps that I have seen anywhere and his service has always been wonderful. Just wanted to share the info in case there is a Penny Black stamp you have been searching for and had not been able to locate. I think you might find it there.

Isn't that a happy stamp? Not sure who rides their bike in a dress and heels, lol, but I think it is so much fun! She looks very happy with her basket of flowers and butterflies fluttering all around. Certainly looks like a wonderful day.

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing some of it with me!

Stamp Club Inspiration

This card was inspired by a card we made at our stamp club last week. Nancy led the group and we had lots of fun. You can see in the photo below one of the cards we made that provided the inspiration for my card.

Love using the strips of pp for the background design and with all the 6x6 pads of designer papers it is so easy. Her stamp and punch are from Stampin Up. I just used a punch to create the flower on my card and then put it in a embossing folder to add some texture.

My goal for the week is to get a light box made so that I can take pictures of cards without all the shadows. Found some directions online that look relatively easy. Wish me luck!

Have a great start to your week and thanks for visiting!

Memory Box Birthday

Happy Monday! Starting this week with a birthday card featuring a Memory Box stamp and dies. The Columbine stamp is so pretty and love that it has the die to go with it. The frame is called Twirling Vine frame.

It has been a nice long weekend and I don't work until tomorrow so I am actually trying to get a little housework done today. This 4 day stretch has done me a lot of good. It seems like when I only have 1 day off at a time, I just spend the day "catching my breath" and don't get much done, so off to get a little more accomplished.

Thanks for visiting

Surprisingly Bold

I am such a pastel girl I can't believe I chose these colors but it's nice to make a little change every now and then. I got this Martha Stewart punch when Tanya and I went to Archivers yesterday. The stamp is from a clear set from Penny Black.  Lots of great new stamps in their release.

Hope your weekend is full of fun! Thanks for spending a little bit of it here :)

Teapot Tulips

This Tulip Teapot design is from Silhouette and Hero Arts. It is called "Flowers in a Teapot C01548" and below is a picture of how it appears in the store.

The design was adapted to create the card by;
1. removing the dots on the teapot
2. changing the flowers to a print and cut design
3. changed the petals of the flowers so that they didn't cut individually and filled the petals with color
4. cut and pasted the flower on the teapot so that it could be cut separately and  layered on the teapot

Used the Cuttlebug and an embossing folder to create the design on the teapot. Some layering and a corner punch and all done.

I wanted to say a "Thank You" to Sheila over at Color Me Happy for giving  me a "shout out" and the Liebster Blog award. This is a "share the love" gesture for bloggers with less than 200 followers.
Sheila has some wonderful creations on her blog and so I wanted to show you one of her cards....

You can see her post about this card Here. Just love the design, those wonderful colors and that little touch of lace. Very nice. Please go over and take a look at her colorful designs.

I will be passing the award along in the next few days.

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.

A Little More Embossing

If you have visited lately I am sure you won't be surprised to see another card created with an embossing folder. This Marianne Design folder was used along with a Spellbinders Nestability and a new die by Memory Box. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

It's the start of another work week and if I can just make it to Friday, I will have a little stretch of time off. Tanya and I have planned a little road trip to Archivers next weekend and I can hardly wait. It's a trip of 100 miles each way so we will have lots of good visiting time. Maybe they will have some new goodies from CHA.

Thanks for visiting!

Have a Beautiful Birthday

This card features another beautiful Marianne Design embossing folder. The white highlights were added by pulling a white pigment ink pad lightly over the embossed image. The flowers were created with punches.
The Inkadinkado sentiment was stamped on a tag created with a Spellbinders nestability.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Embossing Elegance

Marianne design has some of the most beautiful embossing folders I have seen. These folders are called Designables and they emboss and cut. The stamp is from Penny Black. A very quick and easy card.

We turned our air conditioner on today. It was 82! The flowers are blooming and the trees are budding out. Spring is definitely just around the corner. I think the groundhog missed the call with 6 more weeks of winter.

Thanks so much for visiting! It makes my day.
